What about support to S60 3rd edition? you forgot about it?
That is really unfair, S60 5th and then S40(non smartphone), its hard to understand. :(
Best Regards,
Suyog
Best Regards,
Suyog
Now only if you get the "java-feeling" away from the app. Otherwise looking nice.
dont work for the 5800,,, what can i do?
I honestly don't really understand the motivation behind this project. First of all, Gravity can do all of these things so much better than NM for Social Networks. And Nokia would be ill-advised drive such a talented programmer away from Symbian.
Even if there were no Gravity, by now there are so many alternatives for using twitter on Symbian (just look at the data sheet provided by allaboutsymbian) that I feel that you could devote your resources to much more useful products. Think about it!
@Nemoi:
You have a point but here are some counter-arguments that must be considered:
1.) Gravity is a paid 3rd party application whereas Nokia Messaging has the potential to be a free pre-loaded application.
2.) Gravity, like all other 3rd party applications, is from an independent 3rd party which is not contractually obligated to continue supporting the program. Further to that, keeping Twitter, Facebook and certain other high profile social media application development internal seems to be of utmost importance to the viability of all Operating Systems these days.

@suyog: I guess, there are different teams (or single persons) working on the port to S40 / S60v3. And the S40 guys just won.
Hi All,
For those wanting an S60 3rd edition client, please take a look at the bottom of this page: http://betalabs.nokia.com/apps /nokia-messaging-for-social-ne tworks/more_...
The non touch client should be available sometime in March.
damn... now we have to wait until march ... -.- i hpo itll be good..

I agree, i am sick of the new apps coming out for other models first and forgetting all about the S60 3.......The N95 is one of your most popular and expensive products, and you just forget all about us.
this is totally true.. all apps are coming only to 5800XM and n95 i just dont like your point of view, there are many ppl with 3rd edition mobiles so.. why dont make apps for us?

Suyog comment actually reflect one serious issue of nokia platform. it is too difficult follow. (and translate in tramendous slowdown the time-to-market, bad user experience). Rather than blasting us with all sort of information to program different platform(and repeating "more platform to come", any chance to spend more effort to put the together.
new version has problems on n97 mini - unreliable connecting to internet sometimes required reboot. Passwords are no longer saved , until this is fixed its not really a useful app
Posting with location that leads to an Ovi maps location is nice, but it should also use the twitter geo-location API.
Considering this is the second beta, have there been any tweaks to the amount of resources the application requires? It was truly a hog before. And does anyone else have any glaring problems with this and their N97 Mini?
N97 Mini NAM
E75 NAM
N95-3 NAM
My 5800XM keeps rebooting after short usage of just the facebook features!!
And my login info was not kept from previous installation, quite irritating.
Also what happens to the batalabs login that cannot keep me signed in. I have to login each and everytime I go to the page!
I support the thought behind betalabs but the quality you deliver is just not very good I am sorry to say.
many of your s/wrs is only can installed at the phone memory and for me it is a big problem when the free phn memory is less than 100mb just like expmzc5800 and i think you people must make change at the next time for 5800 so as that, the nokia s/wrs is can install at the memory card and i'm not give a support coment to nokia msging, cos we cant use it at our 5800 due to the phone memory problem bcos after instl nokia msging the free phn memory of my 5800 is less than 55mb, thereafter, the 5800 is unable to perform it operation and your s/wrs is only beautiful to look by eye's but bad to be used. tq.
I really don't understand why Nokia is wasting so much time with all these beta tests. I am refering mainly about the Nokia Messaging application. While time is being wasted on beta tests, the competition (eg Blackberry) is quickly encroaching on Nokia territory. There are now so many former Nokia users who have 'defected' to the other side simply because they have BB Messanger - a simple app that allows them to send messages in a cost free and quick way. I know this because I live with one - my wife, together with all her siblings, have vowed never to use Nokias again since they 'reluctantly' tried BBs'
Nokia wake up and do what you have to do because you are very quickly loosing the edge you once had along with a lot of your phone users. How were the developers of Nimbuzz able to integrate with all major email providers? What are you guys doing wrong? Millions of questions to ask but as usual, no one in Nokia ever has the decency to respond to any of the queries posted here. What a shame.
There are better alternatives to Nokia Phones and, guess what, more and more people are opting for those alternatives.
NOKIA WAKE UP!
goooooooooood
waiting this app for S60 V3 like- E63..
We want possibility to use chat on facebook like iphone.
Everythin else is great...Just chat
i am using the app on N97 since the previous version.
it seems very useful and i am waiting for the launch of the app.
problems
- it really seems to kill the ram, the phone restarts twice a day :)
- device's common problem installing on C: where it is always too hard to find even 1(one) MB :(
apart from these,
- graphics, design, usage and user-interface are plus
ercan
Am using E72 and it doesn't for me, when I contacted to nokia care it said that it is not available in India, so can you tell me that when it will available to India.
And can anyone tell me that which is the best app to chat on E72 for yahoo and gtalk?
notice they said for "some" non touch devices
The issue I have with this software is that when you run the app, it saves a ton of little thumbnails on the phone which the Photo Gallery shows. This is very annoying to have a bunch of useless little thumbnail cluttering the already cluttered Photo Gallery. Other features I would like to see in a finished version are:
1. Phonebook integration
2. Chat
3. Phone notifications (Icon, beep, vibrate, something)
These are features that Nokia has failed to implement in two different versions of Facebook apps (this one and the actual Facebook app) which other manufactures have had for sometime now. It's nice to have a pretty app, but a pretty app is only good for looking at if it is useless.
