This is the first concern for me. Have you guys resolved the CPU / RAM usage issue?

Bad news here.
I don't think they've ever worked on it.
I just upgraded my Ovi 2.0 beta from 0.4.7 to 0.4.64.
I think I will uninstall the Ovi and re-install a old PC Suite later.
Unless I have a way to prevent NokiaMServer.exe being executed.
It just cashing, wasting my IO-time, wasting my memory, wasting my power, slow down my PC, sending error reports. It is stealth and keep reading my C:\ and ,my documents for any think interest and build it own DB which I will never use.
Hi!
I tried three times to update the installed Ovi Suite 2 beta (0.4.7.0), but after the download finishes, and the progress bar moving for about 20 secondcs, it hangs for a sec, and then says internet connection lost.
I am running a hungarian Vista 64 SP2 (with all updates till 20 minutes ago) through Bootcamp on an Unibody MacBook 2GHz.
However the Ovi Suite says that the internet connection is lost, my downloads are still running, i can even send im messages on msn, load webpages, so the problem is not in my machine :D
I hope it helps a bit.
Keep on the good work :)
2 big reasons why I will not use Ovi Suite:
1) NokiaMServer shoud not always run in the background (+1 to @hkdennis2k)
2) Sync needs to work with Lotus Notes, not just Outlook/Outlook Express
I can only agree with alsiladka - Ovi Suite NEEDS to require less RAM & CPU cycles. For an app that's supposed to run in the background 24/7, it's way too resource demanding.
Have you guys tried it on a low-end PC/netbook? It's actually flat-out UNUSABLE on such a machine...
It's a beautiful app for sure, but fairly useless as long as it's so bloated.
Hi Nokia,
No offense meant, but, please, show us some Mac love!! :(
Even a preview video showing the alpha version thing working on "your" machines will do!! Seriously, it's a bad advertisement for the "cross-platform" Qt!! ;)
I just get a message saying Nokia M platform has stopped working...
When trying to update from previous ovi suite version, I got an error saying something along the lines of "the file can not be found" after uninstalling previous version, the installation worked without a problem.

I'm with you, it would be great to not have to reboot or start windows virtualized!
And may be if i could sync my photos, FROM the phone to Ovi Suite, that would be nice too :)
to anybody expecting mac or linux version
just because the UI is now written in QT does not mean that a mac or linux version would be easy to do. I remember a previous post on ovi suite mentioning that the new UI still uses all the underlying infrastructure of the old pc suite. may be only the UI has changed everything else has remained same?
MTP is epic FAIL.
Beta? More like pre-alpha.
i installed Nokia Ovi Suite 0.4.64.0
My experience is :
-Backup is doesnt working
-synchronization doesnt working
-my mobile software is (nokia 5800) v30.0.011
I click on the update , after the program find the new firmware : v21.0.025 WTF???:D
the earlyer version better then because is working:D
sorry my english is so bad..
a great concept but far far too resorce hungry.
I likes: all in one program for syncing my E71 maps and all.
don't likes: sooooooo long to do anything.
Fixs: ditch unnessessery jazzy interface and code it better. Less background stuff is more. My winMo5 and active sync are quicker
Reverted to PC-Suite. Reasons:
-Way to slow in most of the aspects
-A memory hawk
-Lack of calender
-Cannot remove "Music" from the start page
-Cannot remove "Login to Ovi" from start page
I dont want music, and I certainly does not want to login to Ovi. With this version it is like you try to control what we as users should do. Of course you want to sell your Ovi store, but please be a bit more discreet with this and DO NOT force this on us.
NOT ALL BAD:. the way you organize SMS
I have tried synchronizing photos from my N95. It does not find any photos even though there are over 300 photos on memory card.
I am happily using Windows Media Player for managing the music on my phone - so it would be good to be able to disable the music sync feature on the Ovi app (and not have NokiaMServer chewing up resources in the background)
Dear Nokia team,
Today I have downloaded the Nokia Ovi suite 2.0.
The program seems to be promising, strait forward, user friendly and good design.Well done guys!
However, this software is missing a very essential feature which was available in the previous Ovi suite 1.x, which was a complete disaster by the way. The USB connection was working every 10th attempt or so. It was not reliable at all.
Anyway, knowing Nokia and how it was always compatible with Lotus Notes, as it always was the safest decision when buying a phone. I was astonished to see that the software lacked the support for LN! I'm an Iphone owner and the reason behind me making the switch to the new N97 was only because I needed to sync Lotus Notes with my phone. I still do not understand the reluctance of most mobile manufacturers for supporting Lotus Notes as it is one of the most used email clients in the corporate environment and is a true USP for Nokia!
I would really be interested to know if you will incorporate Lotus Notes into the Ovi 2.0 or not. kindly advise so that I can go to the place where I bought my N97 from in order to return it. As I was promised a device that is compatible with Lotus Notes email client.
Thank you,
Saher,
